Legal Access to Medical Cannabis in Costa Rica
Costa Rica now allows legal access to medical cannabis under Law No. 10113. Furthermore, this law establishes a fully regulated clinical process that protects both patients and healthcare providers.
At Cura Vida Cannabis Clinics (CVCC), we guide you through every step of this process. Additionally, we ensure that all services comply strictly with Costa Rican law at all times.
Costa Rican Legal Framework — What You Need to Know
CVCC operates exclusively as a medical consultation and wellness center. We provide clinical evaluations, prescriptions, and ongoing patient support under Law No. 10113.
However, it is important to understand the following:
We do not sell, distribute, or provide physical cannabis products or derivatives.
Patients are responsible for fulfilling their prescriptions through legally authorized pharmacies within Costa Rica.
Furthermore, these pharmacies must hold a valid license issued by the Ministry of Health.
As a result, CVCC’s role is strictly clinical. We connect you with the legal framework — not with the product itself.
Important Notice for International Travelers
Medical cannabis regulations vary significantly from country to country. Additionally, a prescription issued in Costa Rica does not authorize the transport of cannabis products across international borders.
CVCC assumes no liability for legal consequences arising from a patient’s attempt to travel with cannabis. Furthermore, patients should be aware of the following:
Cannabis remains a controlled substance under international treaties.
Most countries do not recognize Costa Rican medical cannabis prescriptions.
Attempting to cross borders with cannabis can result in arrest or seizure of the product.
As a result, we strongly advise all patients to consume their treatment exclusively within Costa Rica.
