CBD vs. THC: Understanding the Difference

Cannabis contains over 100 compounds called cannabinoids the two most studied are CBD and THC.

THC is the compound responsible for the psychoactive high, and is also studied for pain relief, appetite stimulation, and muscle relaxation.

CBD is non-psychoactive and is most associated with reducing anxiety, inflammation, and seizure activity it is the basis for the first FDA-approved cannabis-derived medication, used to treat certain forms of epilepsy.

Ratios of CBD to THC vary widely by product and condition, which is why medical guidance matters more than guesswork.

Under Costa Ricas Law 10113, qualifying conditions include chronic pain, anxiety disorders, PTSD, sleep disorders, oncological conditions, and neurological disorders such as epilepsy, MS, and Parkinsons.
